Is the wedding black tie?
Yes. The ceremony and reception on Friday, July 23 are black tie. For gentlemen, this means a tuxedo; for ladies, a floor-length gown is requested.
The Welcome Dinner on Thursday is garden cocktail attire, and the Farewell Float on Saturday is poolside casual. We welcome your best English-wedding attire, hats & fascinators included!
What is the weather like in the Cotswolds in July?
July in the Cotswolds is typically warm and lovely, with temperatures ranging from approximately 65–85℉. That said, England is England! We recommend bringing a light layer or wrap for the evenings, along with rain protection — just in case.
Will any events take place outdoors?
Yes. With the exception of dancing in the ballroom, all events will take place outdoors or under a marquee. We recommend choosing shoes that will be comfortable on lawns and uneven ground. Should the famously unpredictable English weather make an appearance, we will have a wet-weather plan in place.
Is the wedding adults only?
Yes, Thursday and Friday are adults-only celebrations. Children are welcome to join us for the Farewell Float on Saturday. We hope this gives everyone a chance to relax and enjoy the weekend!

Can I bring a plus one?
Due to the intimate size of our celebration, we are only able to accommodate the guests specifically named on your invitation. If you have any questions about who is included in your party, please contact Sara at sara@hautefetes.com.
When should I arrive?
We recommend arriving in the Cotswolds by early Thursday afternoon, giving you plenty of time to check in and settle before the Welcome Dinner that evening. Our final event will take place on Saturday afternoon — but please feel free to come early or stay late. We’ll be there all week!
If your plans allow, we encourage you to explore more of the Cotswolds, London, or elsewhere in England or Europe before or after the celebrations.
Do I need a visa or other travel authorisation?
International visitors — including travelers from the United States — need an Electronic Travel Authorisation, or ETA, as well as a valid passport. Because requirements can change, please check the official UK government website well in advance of your trip.
Which airport should I fly into?
London Heathrow is the most convenient major international airport and is approximately 1½ hours from the Cotswolds by car, depending on traffic. Birmingham Airport is another good option and is approximately 1 hour away.
How do I get to Cornwell Manor?
We highly recommend renting a car at Heathrow or Birmingham Airport so you can fully explore everything the Cotswolds has to offer! Please remember that driving is on the left-hand side of the road in the UK, and we suggest requesting an automatic vehicle when booking if you are not comfortable driving a manual.
You may also take a Great Western Railway (GWR) train from London Paddington to Kingham, which takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Please note that Uber and other rideshare services are not reliably available in the countryside, and local taxis should be booked well in advance. Full details can be found on the Travel & Transportation page.
Will there be shuttles?
Yes. Shuttles will run between Stow-on-the-Wold and Cornwell Manor on Thursday, July 22 and Friday, July 23. Return transportation will also be provided at the end of each evening.
A complete schedule and exact pickup locations will be shared closer to the wedding.
Where should I stay?
We recommend staying in or around Stow-on-the-Wold, Kingham, Oddington or Daylesford, all within easy reach of Cornwell Manor.
We have reserved all 13 rooms at The Porch House in Stow-on-the-Wold. To book, please call the hotel directly and mention the Bakersmith–Dunavant wedding.
Additional recommendations and booking information can be found on the Accommodations page. We encourage reserving your stay early, as July is a popular time to visit the Cotswolds and local hotels are quite small.
Will I need a power adapter?
Yes. The UK uses Type G outlets and a 230V electrical supply. Guests traveling from the United States will need a UK plug adapter.
Most phones, laptops and personal electronics are dual voltage, but an adapter does not convert voltage. Please check each device before plugging it in — particularly hair tools. Learn from Abby’s mistakes!
Is there anything else I should know about visiting the Cotswolds?
The Cotswolds is best enjoyed at an unhurried pace. That said, restaurant tables, local car services, and popular activities can book up well in advance, particularly during the summer, so we recommend making plans early.
Otherwise, pack a layer, expect the occasional rain shower, and prepare to fall completely in love with the English countryside.
